July 2, 2008 Military Death Toll Rises in Afghanistan
Below, photo and text from a New York Times article. At first I thought the photo was of a mountain range among clouds, where the soldier is a rock/mountain formation. But no, it is a photo of America's military power.
David Guttenfelder/Associated Press: American marines fired at insurgents near Garmser in Helmand Province in southern Afghanistan in May. About 32,000 American troops are in Afghanistan.
